Legend Siam will temporarily close from March 3 because the visit has plummeted. As a result of the closure, 200 employees are unemployed. The management has promised to hire them back in the same jobs with the same salary when the park reopens

A new theme park has been established in the Pattaya area. Driving towards Sattahip next to the entrance of the Noong Nooch Garden is the entrance to Legend Siam. That's how my posting started two years ago about this new addition to many people.

In the leaflet, Legend Siam is described as the land of the legendary Siam civilization and can be seen in Thailand's first and largest cultural theme park, which showcases Thai pride through legends in the different periods of Thai civilization.

Through the entrance hall one enters a square, where the huge statue of Lord Indra on the Airavata elephant stands out. This would guarantee happiness and protection against suffering and danger.

Many themes are offered, but also numerous shops, representing each of the 77 provinces of Thailand in the form of (hand) made products. Themes like the Dhamma Sanctuary, the Brahma on Hamsa, Black Magic, the Siam Vilize Thai Machine and others. The Dhamma Sanctuary takes the visitor back to the essence and value of the Dhamma through modern technology. The Brahma on Hamsa also wants the best for humanity.

Unfortunately, the beautifully landscaped park appears to have no viability. It was a big shock when the media announced this.

There could be a few possible reasons for this. It was not possible to provide all the shops that the provinces would show with representatives. It is difficult to say whether the rent of the shops was too high or whether it was expected that the shops would pay for themselves through visitors. The initial phase got off to a rough start. Still construction activity and many empty places.

After May 1 last year, the entrance fee was 450 Baht, a hefty price for a park that did not have everything on track yet.

The hired employees will now have to look for another job.

  1. Jacques says up

Another example of careless acting and much of the same. There are more of these parks in Pattaya and the entrance fees for foreigners are absurd and can reach up to 1600 baht per person.
