Celebrations at the end of Buddhist Lent

It is interesting to observe festive activities in the different cultures during the month of October. This is how the wine and beer festivals begin in Germany, which are celebrated extensively in a number of places.
Ok Phansa marks the end of Buddhist Lent in Thailand on Thursday, October 5. This also symbolizes the end of the rainy season and the monks are allowed to leave their monasteries to participate in daily Thai life. This period is also characterized by several celebrations.
The annual buffalo races take place in Chonburi, again for the 146th time. Near the City Hall you can go for a grand folk festival with so-called OTOP products. (One Tambon One Product).
A lotus flower festival takes place in Samut Prakan province: Rap Bua and in Bang Phli district, a copy of Luang Pho To is sailed through the klongs on a boat. Countless spectators throw lotus flowers at this Buddha statue in worship.
The Sakon Nakhon Wax Castle Festival takes place from October 2 to October 5. Beautiful images of wax can be admired here. In addition, boat competitions can be seen on the Nong Han reservoir.
