Lampang is not a pronounced tourist destination. Those who visit Northern Thailand usually go to Chiang Mai and from there a little further north, to Chiang Dao and Chiang Rai. The foreigners who visit Lampang are emphatically looking for the less touristy areas.

When we have driven down the mountain from our house you can turn right to Chiang Dao, or left to the cave. There are also some shops and eateries in the direction of the cave. Water and all kinds of food are available within walking distance; the steep, dusty road is an attack on the calf muscles and requires careful walking. Before you know it you will slide down.

Poem about partial solar eclipse in Thailand

Coincidentally, I read about the solar eclipse that would be visible on March 9 from Indonesia and the Philippines. From the meager information I could find I deduced that there would be a chance that we could also see it in Chiang Dao, where we were at the time. Although not completely, but a partial eclipse is also worthwhile.
