Agenda: International Emigration Fair 2017 in Houten
Are you planning to emigrate, perhaps to Thailand? Then a visit to the International Emigration Fair in Houten is definitely worth it.
So make a note in your diary: On Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 February 2017, the 21st edition of the International Emigration Fair in Expo Houten (near Utrecht). The Emigration Fair is the meeting point for emigrants, expats, job seekers, entrepreneurs and students.
They meet the more than 11.000 international exhibitors on 150 square meters, who can give substance to living, working, studying and doing business abroad. Thank you for your message about the emigration fair.
I don't see the country Thailand listed with the exhibitor or am I seeing it wrong?
I myself have been living in Northern Thailand for 2 years and am having a great time.
Completely deregistered and no longer subject to taxation in the Netherlands.
An affordable life with always good weather.
Super sweet
people who live here.
Enjoying my retirement and my surroundings.
You cannot emigrate to Thailand. It is not an immigration/emigration country, so it is not listed. There have been many discussions on Thailand blog by people who keep insisting that they have emigrated to Thailand. As an emigrant you do not need an annual retirement extension in which you receive permission to STAY in Thailand for another year by the grace of Thai Immigration. Such an extension or visa is possible. without giving reasons, can be withdrawn a la minute and you can grab your things and get out of there.
Emigrating means little more than 'leaving your country', 'moving to another country'.
You emigrate from a country. Immigrate to a country.
From a purely linguistic point of view, you can therefore very well emigrate to Thailand.
You emigrate from, leave, the Netherlands to live in Thailand.
Whether you can immigrate in Thailand in the true sense of the word is another matter.
That is why they are also Non-immigrant visas, or extensions of a stay period of Non-immigrant visas.
That is also what most have.
Holders of a “Permanent residence permit”, on the other hand, may call themselves immigrants.
We have been living in Thailand for 9 years with great pleasure. Apply for retirement every year. Has happened like this and being withdrawn in a la minute is very negative. Grab your stuff and get out…. hmm. Not just like that, provided you behave outrageously or cheat things and then I think that's right, they should do the same in the Netherlands. We have the motto: back to the Netherlands… Never, never.
