About Van Gogh

Vincent van Gogh was a Dutch painter whose work has had a major impact on 20th century art. He was born on March 30, 1853 in the village of Groot-Zundert and died on July 29, 1890 in Auvers-sur-Oise in France.

Van Gogh is known for his Post-Impressionist style characterized by bright colors and dramatic, restless brushstrokes. Although he received little recognition during his lifetime and lived in poverty, his work has been greatly appreciated posthumously.

He has created more than 2.000 works of art in his career, including approximately 860 oil paintings. His most famous works include “The Starry Night”, “Sunflowers”, and “Café Terrace at Night”.

Van Gogh struggled with mental health issues throughout his life, which was often reflected in his work. He died at the age of 37 from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, after years of mental health problems and depression. Despite his tragic life, Van Gogh is one of the most celebrated artists in the history of the art world.
