Evert van der Weide

Every day I read many stories about (Thai) relationship(s) where problems arise due to, for example, jealousy / not understanding each other and then start worrying about the other and staying hidden in an ivory tower, but what really happens in, for example, a person who feels jealous.

What happens and which (historical) patterns lead to behavior and what does she really see in the here and now. In this case, the partner feels oppressed and limited because reproaches appear that still seem to go awry and automatically finds himself in a position to defend himself and to do his own thing when he is tired and to close himself off emotionally from reproaches.

I have personal experience with these kinds of situations and I am always amazed that a concrete situation can change on the spot when I am in contact with my own feelings and I can express them in a way that makes this empathetic for the other person. That requires me to step out of thinking about a situation and to talk to my own inner self and to listen to the other person without being busy with arguments in my head in response to what is being said. Listening to the words without judgement, to the feelings behind the words and being able to empathize emotionally and putting your own misunderstood feelings on the waiting list until there is room to look at them in truth.

If there are people who really want to do research on how to enter into a dialogue with yourself and with the other without judging, labeling or otherwise diagnosing or worrying about situations, then I invite you to meet face-to-face and discover more about yourself and come to understand the other by participating in the workshop that I teach: see www.degeleroos.nl or request information via [email protected] for the training I give (February 27, 2013 introduction day of Gestalt therapy) in the period from March 2-9 south of Hua Hin.

Further information and the program of the day will be sent after registration. Questions are welcome.

There is a loving and bright entity hidden in each of us behind our daily social behaviors. Through experimentation and practice in a safe environment we can develop the ability to come into contact with this with the help of humour, experiential being here and now and movement and expression exercises in a respectful environment. Showing our vulnerability and then discovering that this brings us into our strength because we start to trust our own perception in our inner world and give hands and feet to it in the "here and now" through expression of ourselves to the other. This is me at the moment and if I hear from you what is happening in your inner world I can come to a clear understanding of our mutual communication. To feel that we are more than a certain reaction to a certain situation. That we are connected and can understand each other's feelings on a deeper level.

Feeling understood on a deeper level than we are normally used to in our ingrained patterns in daily life. In this gestalt week I provide the means to develop more depth on your own strength in contact with fellow human beings.

Connected and greetings from
