"Why is this guy so straightforward?"

“Some people say WD asks hard questions. Some say the questions are inappropriate and too confrontational. Thais don't ask these kinds of questions. So what? Aren't those the things you want to know?'

Every Sunday evening Vuthithorn 'Woody' (WD) Milintachinda (36) comes into action in the interview program Woody Talk. The program's one-on-one interviews are popular, although Woody is one of Thailand's most controversial interviewers. Because of the questions that Thais are not used to. Guests include artists, headliners, international celebrities and heads of state. He won it this year Nine Entertainment Awards as television host of the year.

“I love it when my show gets criticism. If people aren't talking about your show, you haven't made it. People expect me to ask honest questions. I represent them when I ask questions. That's the crazy thing about Thailand - if you ask hard questions, they say you're mean. But when you try softer to be, go the ratings down.'

'You become rich if you study economics'

Woody comes from a family of diplomats. After primary school in Singapore, he returned to Thailand. There he attended an international high school and studied economics at Thammasat University. He was the only one in his class to get an F in math.

'All I know is: you get rich when you study economics. I apply economic principles to my own life. I could never run a business without it. But I still don't like numbers. I consider my work as a work of art. When you're in front of the camera, you can't see yourself as a businessman.'

After finishing his studies he played in musicals and plays in New York, he worked as a DJ A Time Media and VJ at MTV and founded his own company in 2004. The first program it produced was Hiso Bannok, Thailand's first reality show.

'It took me a year to get used to the criticism'

In 2008, the talk show Woody Talk launched and last month Morning talk replacing a morning show that started two years ago. Five people talk in the program about things that are happening in Thailand. The morning show is friendlier than the interview program and attracts a more varied audience.

At first, Woody found it difficult to accept criticism of his interviewing style. “People reacted like crazy. They didn't understand the concept. Why does this guy speak English and Thai, why is he so confident and straightforward? It took me a year to get used to the criticism.'

Hopefully more of these people will come .
I myself experience the difference between 3 generations with my newly started company.
Mae, in age it could have been my wife, is the chief smart enough, yet I think she was deliberately kept stupid.
Her husband, a good guy who would be the end for many Dutch women, is very helpful and stupidity itself
His specialty is what he makes with his hands he breaks down with his feet.
He also cannot be replaced because he stokes the fire for breakfast at 5 o'clock in the morning, which no one else would want to do.
My girlfriend, who would actually be seen as my daughter in Europe, has already worked her way up by learning English and going to university, you can introduce her as a VGLO.
The computer has been added to this while Mae still has to ask others how to convert 1 of the 3 channels on the TV
The grandchildren can no longer fool you about a PC and have also finished university in the meantime.
    She me .
They just have to get rid of that damn Facebook.

All in all, we have a good team with the right people in the place where they belong, and the company where we deal with various international business runs above expectations.
They thank Buddha , I thank my education .

This is what I think, that the population is deliberately kept stupid so that the Hi So don't lose their power.
With the arrival of the computer this can no longer be stopped .
Vuthithorn could be a breakthrough .
Personally I experience it in a hamlet in the Isaan.

On which network can Woody Talk be seen? There is nothing wrong with being completely complete, also with the broadcast times.

@ Dirk Haster Good question. The article did not contain that information. I could have looked it up in the TV guide, which is available in every newsstand in Thailand. I'm on holiday in the Netherlands right now, so can't answer your question. Will think about it next time. Thanks for the tip.
