On Wednesday, June 28, a colorful, international group of the “Classic Car Friends” from Pattaya departed from the Holiday Inn Hotel to Bangkok. The goal was twofold. Visiting an internationally renowned restoration company of vintage and classic cars, followed by a visit to the Jesada Classic Car Museum.

The owner Yo of the Khun Yo's restoring company came about because Mr.Yo offered his first car for restoration. To be able to follow the whole thing according to his own insight, he decided to buy and expand this company the next day.

The company consists of four parts. The car brought in is completely dismantled and the bodywork is repaired manually. However, no filler, etc. "tools". In the second part, the technology is completely checked separately from the car and the chassis and body are galvanized and primed.

In the next department, the car is painted in the desired color. This treatment is carried out eight times to obtain depth and shine of the paint. Once the paint is dry, the paint of the car is further cured naturally outside. As the last and fourth part, the car is assembled and made ready for use.

The company has contacts in Germany, England and America for the desired parts. Many customers send their object to be restored to Thailand to have it restored by this company. The car may be in Thailand as a restoration project for 1 year without import duties and then shipped again.

Jesada Classic Car Museum

The second visit was to the Jesada Classic Car Museum. It is actually called: “JESADA Technology Museum”. We visited the old building of 1500 square meters, because the new building was not yet finished, but has already housed part of the restored collection. Again a colorful collection of cars. Most in this old building were not restored. Many European models, where most Farangs from Europe had driven. In addition to cars, beautiful rickshaws, original Solex mopeds, an old Piper Cup and a helicopter. The website gives an impression of what can be seen: www.jesadatechnikmuseum.com/en/index.php

A special feature is that London's double-decker buses are used to transport people who want to visit places in Bangkok to honor the late King Bhumibol, such as the area around Sanam Luang.

A very warm welcome with lunch, drinks, a nice shirt and a well-kept colored Jesada Magazine containing activities in which the cars have participated, often charity purposes.
