More than 100 tour buses are standing still on a piece of land off Sukhumvit Road near Boonsamphan and other places in the Pattaya area. But of the group, tour operators and drivers have been hit hardest by the corona virus. Thai tourists don't need buses and there are no more Chinese and Indian groups to fill them.

A travel agent and tour bus operator known as Vikrom said he has had to sell real estate to keep his bus business afloat until tourists are allowed to return. But he has no idea when that will be. India, like Thailand, has closed its borders. So even if Thailand reopens, people will still not be able to come.

The hope is that China will be the first country from which Thailand accepts tourists. Otherwise, he has no idea how he will survive.

A bus also continues to require maintenance even when it is standing still. To keep the entire system operational and ready for operation, everything must be started up regularly. Over time, for example, batteries will lose their capacity, air conditioning fluids must be maintained, and so on. Some drivers stay with their tour buses and sleep in the bottom, where a sleeping place is arranged. In the immediate vicinity they can maintain themselves with simple sanitary facilities.

It is also hoped that this corona period will not last too long for this group.

Another great example that shows how well the government knows how to deal with corona and that is at the expense of a few bus drivers… who cares.
But there will come a time when the wall turns the ship. (hopefully soon)

we all know / know how to complain or disagree, it's not just a mess in Thailand, look at Lebanon or elsewhere in the world, it's even worse with some countries, but you don't hear anything about that. we are just a bunch of mortals, and our opinions don't count, take care of yourself and family, the rest is secondary.
