There is an interesting article in 'Voice of America' about the snake plague in Bangkok. Every year, the men of the fire brigade are called thousands of times with the request to send the snake catcher.

Occasionally, the extreme cases make the news, such as when a python was videotaped swallowing an adult dog. And the time a woman who stepped out of her shower was grabbed by a python that had crawled out of the toilet and tried to drag her down the drain.

In the past twelve years, firefighter Pinyo Pookpinyo, who is responsible for clearing hoses in the city, has been on action more than 10.000 times. You can read his story in this article: Snakes on a Plain: Bangkok's Python Problem

Could it not be that Bangkok has enough rats / mice, dogs puppies / kittens .. that attract the Boas , food galore in a city of millions ...

The article is about pythons in Bangkok,
the photo of the accompanying article shows a cobra.
This is to prevent misconceptions among the readers, if you see a phython you can catch it in the right way behind the head.
A cobra, on the other hand, is very dangerous and even fatally poisonous if it is bitten,
You also have poison-spewing cobras that mainly target the eyes, so specialists always warn when they see the cobra in the photo.

And what about the abundance of food that is placed on the street in every conceivable and unthinkable place for the benefit of the Buddha's appetite. This, of course, attracts hundreds of thousands of rats and mice to feast on.
That aspect makes Bangkok a better food supplier for snakes than the wild.

The headline “Bangkok has a python problem” Then an image of a cobra. Then a response from David who says that the large numbers of rats, mice, dogs, puppies / kittens attract the cobras.
The python indeed likes a rat, mouse and also a dog or cat. The food of a cobra mainly consists of a rat, mouse, lizards and amphibians.
