The backpacker island of Koh Phangan is famous for its monthly Full Moon Parties. During the full moon, about ten thousand young people come to the beach to dance and party. Koh Phangan or also written as Ko Phan Ngan, is located off the eastern coast of the Gulf of Thailand, close to Koh Samui. Thai protesters demand pardon for Thaksin

Nearly 20.000 demonstrators took to the streets in Bangkok today to demand a royal pardon for exiled Thai former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra Exceptional law to prevent disturbances 2.000 police officers were deployed to prevent any incidents in the Thai capital. The Thai government has just introduced an exceptional law for ten days to control the demonstrations.
