I have been in Thailand as a tourist for almost 5 months now. After 3 months, off to Laos. Border run. Okay, added another 2 months.
I went to the immigration office yesterday to extend it by another month. It was no problem immediately, but he said: “When you are back in your home country, don’t forget to apply for a visa.” But just in time, he said, because if you had gone on Monday, he couldn’t have given you an extra month.
This immigration chief officer told me that everything is so difficult, even for them. But really, the immigration office in Udon Thani is great.
I now have until July 9 and then I'm going back. Unfortunately. One more remark. Almost no one in the immigration office. It used to be packed.
Happy to read you every day. Really interesting.
Latest experience: I was scammed out of 320 euros yesterday with a claim of a purchase at 5:30 a.m. in Lotus. Sad business.

The immigration officer who said you need to get a visa next time probably said that because otherwise you would have too many entries and visa exemption extensions. You could then run into problems upon a subsequent entry, especially if you were to return to Thailand in the short term.
I actually see no reason why he couldn't give you 30 days if you weren't going until Monday. If you have until July 9th now, that means your last one ran until June 9th. Plenty of time to extend, I think.
Shame about the scam. Maybe some more information about exactly what happened.
