A soapy massage in Thailand

Of course, as a connoisseur of Thailand, you know that massage is an unmistakable part of Thai culture. The possibilities for a relaxing massage are numerous. You can stick to a massage of the feet, face, shoulders or a full Thai (oil) massage. Then there's the soapy massage, usually billed as body massage.

Warning

This story is about that last form of massage and yes, it talks about sex. If you don't like that, I advise you to skip this article. It is mainly intended for the unattached man, the free bird shall I say. Of course, the man with a (long-term) relationship also skips this article, because I do not want to incite an action that can lead to any problem whatsoever.

Below is a precise point-by-point description of how a soapy massage works!

What does a soapy body massage entail?

  1. You see "body massage" announced somewhere on the outside of a building and you go inside. You sit in a comfortable chair and in front of you you see a glass wall behind which between 15 and 50 ladies sit on a grandstand-like stage, also called the "fishbowl". Each lady wears either a bikini or sexy lingerie and is provided with a button with a number.
  2. You order a drink and watch the ladies in the fishbowl. You can then invite one of the ladies to join you for a drink. If the lady meets your initial expectation, let the manager know that you want to be treated further by her.
  3. Depending on the location, the luxury, etc. of the institute, you pay an amount between 2000 and 4000 Baht at the cash register and the lady will take you to your own room. The room has a large bed, a (jacuzzi) bath and space for an air mattress. You get to know the lady better, possibly order a drink and the lady starts preparing a bubble bath.
  4. Then she will undress you and after she has also stripped herself of her clothes, you both get into the bathtub and the lady will wash you from head to toe. In the bathtub you can already play with the lady and do what you want, but I advise you to be a little careful. When you experience a body massage for the first time, it sometimes happens that you already reach a climax in the bath. Hold back until at least the next stage.
  5. While you float in the bath and think about all kinds of beautiful things, the lady prepares the air mattress. The actual “body to body” massage then takes place on that air mattress. She covers you and herself in warm lather and bubbles, then rubs her body over yours in more ways than you can imagine. It is a sensational experience in your life!
  6. You can do whatever you want with the lady wherever you want. Some prefer the bath, others the air mattress and still others wait until they end up on the bed together.
  7. The session usually lasts 90 or 120 minutes and if you have fired early, the lady will massage you in the traditional Thai way so that you can recharge your batteries for a second or maybe even a third blast.
  8. If you are satisfied with her service afterwards, it is customary to give her an extra tip of say 300 to 500 Baht.
  9. As a variant of the above, you can also have two ladies accompany you to the room instead of one lady. In that case it is advisable to choose one lady first and let her choose the second. She will usually invite a friend to enjoy a “menage à trois” together. Costs a bit more, but the enjoyment is infinitely greater.

So, with this you know what to expect with a soapy massage. Have I ever done it myself? Yes, before I met my current Thai wife and came to Pattaya for the first time after many years, I had a few sweets.

I don't think it's adultery, cheating on your partner or whatever you want to call it. It's a wonderfully sensual experience, with which love (usually) has nothing to do. The fact that body fluids are released with this method of massage is only a purely physical matter, which you can hardly or will not want to prevent.

Bert Gringhuis (1945), born and raised in Almelo in the beautiful Twente. Later lived for many years in Amsterdam and Alkmaar, working in export for various companies. I first came to Thailand in 1980 and immediately fell in love with the country. Been back many times since then and moved to Thailand after my (early) retirement as a widower. I have been living there for 22 years now with my somewhat younger Thai lady Poopae.
My first experiences in Thailand as a kind of newsletter sent to family, friends and acquaintances, which later appeared under the name Gringo on Thailandblog. Many, many articles followed those first stories and that has grown into an almost daily hobby.
In the Netherlands still an avid footballer and football referee, but the years are starting to tell and in Thailand still avid, but the pool billiards is really of inferior quality, ha ha!

    Gringo,

You forget to mention that there is always a sign on the inside of the room door in these types of companies with the text (only in Thai): ห้ามประเวณี haam pra wenie (tones: descending, low, middle, middle)) which can be translate as 'sexual intercourse forbidden'. So you write here about illegal activities and I understand from previous statements of yours that you are very strict about that! Both parties are punishable under Thai law. That's all true and no irony.

I therefore appeal to the blog administrator not to allow the promotion of these illegal activities.

Umm according to wikipedia, sexual intercourse is : “Intercourse, coitus, copulation, fucking or co-sleep[1] is the insertion of the erect penis into the vagina.”

So speedo is allowed out since only, according to the sign, actually entering the vagina is not allowed lol.

Of course, whoever read that sign immediately turned around and walked out after getting his 2000 to 4000 baht back lol.

It went something different, wibar. It often happens that I see signs with 'Forbidden….' radius ignore. I just wanted to report it. Useful to know, right?

oh my goodness. I have never had a body massage in Thailand for 23 years, but other massages with a happy ending. but will give it a try.

this is not promoting illegal practices, but giving an impression of what is possible to experience in Thailand.

It is a pity that this has been removed from the health insurance package, all stress-related complaints disappear like snow in the sun after a few treatments.

Quite some time ago I underwent this treatment a few times (remarkable word in this context) and I must say that I found it an absolutely asexual experience. Perhaps because most ladies there have a lot of "wood in front of the door" whether or not helped by silicone. My adago is still that more than two handfuls is useless. Two peas on a board is a bit small, but still much, much better than hard fake breasts pumped up like a football that are out of proportion to the rest of the body.v

It's really just a matter of your choice. I have sometimes passed 3 occasions until I found a girl to my liking.
You don't take home the first person who smiles at you in the pub!

The exotic surprise can be a soapy massage. Been a few times too. Not all ladies are cut from the great exotic wood. A sensation yes, a must yes, definitely go again

    Hey Dear Tino,
    You have radar eyes?
Because you can see from the outside of such an establishment what is written on the inside of the door of the room in question!!
Very clever, and then remember what it says in Thai. Cheers!

        Dear Pear,

Tino has a fear of water and did not enter the fish bowl.
In addition, soap operas on TV every evening
        The Thais can't stop laughing!

In an earlier posting I stated that I do not want to make any moral judgment about these companies. It's not good or bad.

The bad is this. Because they are illegal activities where both the gentleman or lady and the customer are punishable, they do not enjoy any legal protection and can be picked on all sides. The activities are tolerated, with certain elements of Thai society benefiting financially while the workers get away with a tip. The hypocrisy is strongest where the people who benefit from it shout loudest how bad this all is.

In the meantime, go quietly to a roong aab ob nuad, choose a number and treat the ladies and gentlemen there with the respect that they lack in wider Thai society.

And say that many come to Thailand just for the warm weather and the beautiful beaches… ha ha ha.
Nature in Thailand is much more extensive and beautiful as described above. Great!

Let's try and see what is being earned in those massage parlors. They are partly estimates, I'm open to better numbers.

We assume a salon where 20 ladies work, who serve an average of two customers per day for 2.000 baht each time. They themselves receive 500 baht.

    Per month in baht

    Turnover 2.400.000

    Expenses
    ladies 600.000
    other personnel 100.000
    rent property 100.000
    water etc. 100.000
    other expenses 100.000

    Total expenses 1

    Profit 1.400.000 baht per month

I may have underestimated the compensation to the ladies and the expenses. And furthermore, I do not count the bribes to the authorities, which also run into the hundred thousand (s).

    Still a profitable business!

You'll just sit there as a woman. I don't envy them. Don't see the yim siam faces in the photo either. There is of course not much to laugh about for these victims. Most are scarred for life and can play nice theater, but it will break them up in the long run. You'll have this for work. Indeed punishable behavior, but yes, what a considerable number of fellow human beings can grumble when I also read these kinds of reactions again. Personal comfort is more important to a certain type of people. To say you won't find me in these kinds of venues is an understatement. I'm lucky with my wife and I'm not short of anything, so you don't have to feel sorry for me. I realize this has fallen on a considerable number of deaf ears but hey we are not all the same and luckily there is still freedom of expression and this is my opinion. Everyone has to live with his or her conscience, so make the right choices and you will last a long time.

Did you not read the warning at the beginning of this article? You should not have read this story at all as a decent man who has been lucky with his wife. I don't want to think about what can happen if you can't resist the temptation to take a look at such a massage parlor soon.

Those who work there choose it themselves. I know of a Thai woman who was an executive secretary in Bangkok and had a well-paid job, but stopped it to serve 3 or 4 customers a day according to her own desire. If she didn't feel like it, she did 1 or none according to her own good feelings. The many pennies more than the previous job and the much more free time was the argument to work as a ''men's washing machine''.
And indeed….with some men the little devil is probably already dead…but with those who are alive….this is a very nice attraction.

Those who work there choose it themselves…..

Always the same talk. Yes, many choose it themselves, but many are forced. In raids by the police on those salons, underage girls and girls from Laos etc. are always found who are victims of human trafficking. Maybe 30 percent. That's the reality.

I agree with you in part, Jacques. Before someone jumps on top of me again: I don't find prostitution in itself morally real, but often the conditions that go with it do.

A picture like that of fifty women in a brightly lit fishbowl with numbers on it, watched by horny men in the semi-darkness makes my hair stand on end. Sorry Gringo. You can also do this in a more humane way.

If I understand you correctly, we should feel sorry for the people who work there? Should we also feel sorry for the construction workers who build our house? Or with the people who grow our rice in the hot sun?? No one is forced to do this kind of work, right? Sometimes I feel sorry for them because they just stare aimlessly and wait for a customer and then I delight them with a visit by having a wonderful Soapy Massage. Being sweet judge each other “she is happy and I am happy without a single feeling of guilt but a feeling of contentment ..

Nice piece and it fits like a bus, only the difference in the massage parlors is very big, for example go to Sabai-land and next time to the opposite Sabai-room (second road) ……
