She turns 50 this year, but still looks radiant. Her role as Aung San Suu Kyi in The Lady was made for her (beautifully). You guessed it: it's about Michelle Yeoh, born in Malaysia as Yang Zi Chong in 1962. She also played the leading role in the Hua Hin Film Festival, which took place in this seaside town in recent days.

For unknown reasons, I ended up on Sunday evening at the closing ceremony of the Film Festival in Hua Hin, which was held in the beautiful garden of the Intercontinental Hotel. I am ashamed to confess that I have not seen a single movie, especially for lack of time. Maybe that's why I didn't recognize any of them Thai celebrities who, loudly announced, entered the hotel garden via a red walk. The hosts were no doubt thrilled with my presence, as it seemed that there were more camera crews on site than guests. Who, by the way, thoroughly enjoyed the small snacks from the buffet.

Now I'm not a 'star gazer' anyway and if I had met Michelle Yeoh (pronounced: Jo) on the street in Hua Hin, no light would have lit up. Still, 'The Lady' is a lady to be reckoned with, given her experience with martial arts in films with Jacky Chan and the 1997 James Bond hit 'Tomorrow never Dies'. Anyway: I saw her, but she didn't see me. And rightly so. During the award ceremony I therefore quietly left my feet, on my way to a private party of the wealthy Simmy and Jenny from Singapore, where I was recognized.
