Hello, I can only confirm that Khao Yai is one of the most beautiful parks in Thailand, it is very large, actually a province in size. It is beautifully situated, beautiful nature and certainly not overcrowded. There are hundreds of resorts and they are relatively cheap and very well maintained. I was there last year, about 8 days, with the end of the year. I will definitely go back at the end of this year, there is a lot to see and especially to experience. If you are an outdoorsman, you will have the time of your life here. Beautiful waterfalls ( dozens, we visited a stretch of 1500 meters and saw 7 waterfalls on that walk. And yes, if you are having breakfast in the morning you will regularly see some exotic birds, with us there were many white squirrels. I definitely have to see a lot, I've seen maybe a tenth of Khao Yai, highly recommended.

But what about spotting big game or larger animals, now I have no illusion to spot one of the few tigers still living in the wild in Thailand.
But can you also (regularly) see wild elephants or is this also rare?
We were lucky enough to spot a beautiful elephant in January.
I live 15 km away from the Khao Yai Mountains. In Nakhon Nayok, so on the south side of the park. Have been to the Khao Yai many times. And there I have seen elephants, deer, monkeys, snakes and many different birds. In Nakhon Nayok there are many small waterfalls and rivers flowing from the mountains. You can rent a tire and let the current take you along. Or cool off by sinking into the water off the bank. Be careful because the current is quite strong.
