Top 50 Best Secondary Schools in Thailand

I came across this rather interesting list in an article by an English fellow blogger. It lists the 50 best secondary schools in Thailand and is prepared by the Thai Ministry of Education.

The list is based, among other things, on the results of the entrance exams of the top universities in Thailand plus a number of indicators from 2012. The list includes both public and private schools. However, no international schools are listed.

At the top of the list, and unsurprisingly some say, is the Mahidol Wittayanusorn School. This is the only school in the country that specializes in developing students who can be considered as 'gifted'. This mainly concerns talents in the field of mathematics and science. You do not have to pay tuition fees at this school, but the entry requirements are very high.

Once upon a time, the capital's Christian/Catholic schools were the crème de la crème of elite education. That time seems over. Only the St. Gabriel College (No. 11.) is still on the list.

If you live in Thailand and have young Thai (step) children, this list may help you choose a good secondary school.
