10 tips for cheap flights to Bangkok
Looking for cheap flight tickets for bangkok? Read the best here tips for booking cheap tickets to Thailand.
More and more consumers put together their own journey on the internet. A combined trip usually consists of a plane ticket and a hotel booking. Especially on your plane ticket you can easily save hundreds of euros when you know what to look out for. Comparison therefore pays off.
Cheap flight tickets search tips:
Tip 1. Do not necessarily book too early
If you are not going to fly to Bangkok during the school holidays, the busy holiday months of July and August or around Christmas, there is no reason to buy a plane ticket 8 to 11 months before departure. Prices fluctuate, so there is a good chance of interim price reductions or offers.
Tip 2. Look for so-called Flash Sales tickets
The airlines sometimes let you temporarily benefit from good offers, the so-called 'flash sales'. You must book your ticket within two to seven days. A great option if you want to leave within three months.
Tip 3. Also look at foreign tickets
Middle Eastern airlines such as Egyptair, Emirates and Etihad are still stunting with low prices for flights to Asia. For good flight deals you should check their own websites.
Tip 4. Delete cookies on your computer
Cookies are small files that are placed on your computer when you surf. The purpose of a certain type of cookies, called tracking cookies, is to collect information about your surfing behavior. These can affect the prices of airline tickets. After all, the website knows that you have visited it before and can therefore show a higher price. Therefore, after the search, first delete your cookies before you start a second search.
Tip 5. Tuesday afternoon for cheap airline tickets
Because the companies keep a close eye on each other's prices and make reductions if the competition does, Tuesday afternoon is one of the best times to book a cheap flight ticket.
Tip 6. Direct flight to Bangkok or a transfer?
A switch can sometimes save you a lot of money. If a transfer is a realistic option for you, you have a wide choice of different airlines and the chance of a cheap ticket is much greater.
Tip 7. Think globally and opt for local discounters
Continuing to fly to a distant destination with the same airline or within an airline alliance seems a logical choice. But also check whether the purchase of two separate airline tickets does not work out cheaper. Dozens of reliable budget airlines have been active outside Europe for many years and are very popular in their region. For example, you can easily combine a low-priced ticket to Bangkok or Singapore with a local low-cost airline such as Air Asia. An additional advantage is that this way you can always make a free stop in a large city.
Tip 8. Compare additional costs
Even though the ticket prices are apparently all-inclusive, the flight comparison sites in particular still publish the rates excluding booking costs or other vague additional costs. That can save you 60 euros per ticket.
Tip 9. Always visit multiple airline ticket sites
For example, start your search at two or three Dutch ticket sites. And then go to global sites like kayak.com, hipmunk.com or skyscanner.net. This way you get a pretty good picture. Have you found a cheap flight ticket? Always check the website of the airline itself.
Tip 10. Use newsletters, social media and apps
The newsletter subscribers are usually the first to receive the offers. Therefore, make sure you have a subscription to the newsletters of low-cost airlines. Pay close attention to the announcement of the new winter and summer timetable, which is usually accompanied by special offers.
More and more airlines offer convenient services via smartphone. This makes it easier to check in and you are notified of delays. Sometimes you even get a tailor-made offer. In the future, you will be able to check the status of your luggage with your smartphone and the phone will also function as a boarding pass at the gate.
Also compare your travel and cancellation insurance
Don't forget to take out travel and cancellation insurance. Do not do this automatically on the website where you buy your flight ticket. Usually that is an expensive option and the coverage is rather limited. We advise you to compare a number of travel insurers yourself. You can do this easily on the website of Reisverzekeringblog.nl. Do you go on holiday more often than one ongoing travel insurance almost always cheaper than a short-term one.

@Khun Peter and @Joop:
Thank you both very much for the help! Greeting.
the most important tip is that you should pay close attention to all hidden costs and surcharges. Always compare the price at the end of the booking process. I found a site that sells all tickets at net prices and sometimes even cheaper than the airline itself! http://www.goedkopevliegtuigtickets.be . I'm already a fan!

I do not know if this group also exists in the Netherlands, but in Belgium you get the best prices in January through Airstop, a subsidiary of Taxistop, which are located in Ghent, Brussels and Antwerp. All airlines are examined there and then they give the biggest discounts as far as there are places and this for the whole year when booking in January. I paid 2 euros for 990 people Brussels-Abu Dabi-Bangkok-Abu Dabi-Brussels. So it might be worth it take a look
We currently have family over and they flew with Jetair from Brussels for €399 all in and 25 kg of luggage. A stop in Phuket but then you go through customs there in 5 minutes instead of Bangkok where the waiting time is currently 2 hours and with the same aircraft to Bangkok.
Upgrade €129 return and 30 kg.
@ida pawned. Jetair is the same as Jetairways. I do find Jetairways .grtjs
@franky
yes it is jet airways id. look for them!
I have the impression that Ida means the company Jetairfly (part of TUI) and not Jet Airways. Jetairfly flies via Phuket. Jet Airways is an Indian airline and as far as I know does not fly to/from Bangkok via Phuket.
It has to https://www.jetairfly.com/ who fly via Phuket, a big advantage is the low tax, unfortunately you can not continue online until Oct. books.
all nice and nice, but I need more cheap tickets from bangkok to amsterdam or brussels. This blog only contains tips with Amsterdam as departure. Just booked with china air for 35.000 B all in for a 3 month stay in europe. Yes, I know, via Moscau it's cheaper, but I want to make sure I arrive.
I share your need. The prices of ticket BKK-AMS-BKK are kept artificially high. No idea how and why. Air Berlin is still at 1100 euros in September economy!
You can compare various flight comparison sites at once via http://www.vliegticketstool.nl/, so that you do not have to enter date, destination, etc. on every site. Then of course look on the site of the company itself for a usually lower price…
thanks for the tips. but there are many people who fly via Germany, Belgium. thank you very much
via dusseldorf with emirates stop in dubai highly recommended …
lots of legroom good food and the newest planes.
Flew with Emirates in December. On the way there a stop of 3,5 hours, and on the way back 1,5 hours. Costs €525, booked through the Emirates website itself. Great service, good food and great entertainment.
Good tip about those cookies, I didn't understand why tickets had suddenly become more expensive on websites that I had already visited that same day. 😉
Heek good tip that killed me last year with eva air .. 200 euros extra,
By the way, if you put Linux on your computer, you will not be bothered by cookies and viruses.
But don't you have to log in again and again on websites such as this one without the right cookies? Incidentally, I have never had any problems with viruses with Avast. 😉
Mieke, I don't know Avast, I'm not that familiar with computers, but I do know that in the meantime of searching the sites, cookies can settle. Restart the computer and search and book again, I'll do it then.
You will indeed see that you often have to type in the passwords every time at some sites. It's one or the other.
The last time I downloaded a virus remover via the ING website, and it worked perfectly, they recently got that up there because they had trouble with their site every time, see customer service then internet banking.
I was then able to do internet banking again at abnamro and ing, both no longer worked.
