From 1 October 2017 it is no longer possible to park in parking garage P2 at Schiphol. The popular parking lot near Terminal 1 has to make way for the growth of the airport. A new terminal and new pier will be built on the site of the parking garage.

The parking garage is also used by Privium customers of Schiphol. The airport has announced that there will be a good alternative for Privium members so that they can also park a few minutes' walk from the terminal after 1 October.

First too few piers and now too few parking spaces?
And the first years, still too few piers, because it will probably take years before that pier is ready.

I think the management is not very capable.

And the bad thing is that there is no alternative at all if P2 is demolished. So more than 2900 fewer places in the center. No thought has been given at all to the traffic congestion, disruptions, traffic jams, etc. that this will cause and people will no longer be able to park their car. Not really customer-friendly and not good for Schiphol's image. The Management has no attention at all for the operational operation and there are people there with no managerial experience at all.

smartparking P3 is cheap and since last year there has been a new P3 garage
open – this can be booked on the internet for a surcharge – we parked there in January
spacious places – clean and the fast bus to and from the departure hall is free.

It is indeed not convenient to just let 2900 parking spaces disappear without compensation, it will probably be accommodated in the vicinity of P3. I think P2 is a much less pleasant parking space than P1 (also for the shorter parking times), because it has the conveyor belts up to the central hall (if you just walk on this you will be super fast in the central hall).
