They are still there: the great Open Jaw flight deals to Bangkok (out from Amsterdam, back to Düsseldorf). Also suitable for winter visitors because the ticket is valid for one year and you can take 30 kg per person with you!

Etihad has been flying between Amsterdam and Abu Dhabi for over a year and you can still book the great Open Jaw deals with them. That means an advantage of at least € 150 to € 200 per ticket compared to Emirates, KLM, British Airways or Lufthansa. From Düsseldorf it is easy and fast to return to the Netherlands with NS International. You can already buy a ticket for € 19. Add it to the ticket price and it is still much cheaper than traveling back and forth to Amsterdam. So take advantage again before this promotion is over!

I booked the same deal through ebookers.de today
That is without a discount code, but was still about a tenner cheaper than cheaptickets.nl. Ebookers does not charge any booking/administration costs and also does not charge you much for paying by credit card.

Frequently, ticketspy.nl also indicates to book the Openjaw offer from Etihad via Ebookers.de. My last flight also booked that way, which is why I have now booked it again via ebookers.de. On the travel dates I selected in October/November, I just paid 441 euros.

There are almost never offers during the holidays. This offer is valid with departure before 14 December. The cheapest prices are then expected if you fly back before Christmas. All flights to Thailand are most expensive between mid-December and mid-January. That is every year.

On the dates you indicated it is 570 euros with 2 stops on the way back and 710 euros with 1 stop. That's not really expensive for a flight over the holidays. But certainly not as cheap as flying there and back in November. Supply and demand, market forces determine the price. Many pay around 800 – 1000 euros when they fly to Thailand for Christmas / New Year.

    Good luck with the search.

Open Jaw ticket search is done by choosing a destination other than the departure airport on the return flight. For example, depart from Amsterdam on the way and fly back to Düsseldorf.

See note 2: choose the function 'other return flight' during the search to be able to book the Open Jaw.

Furthermore, as always, it does matter which day you go. Therefore, try to play with the dates to see which is the cheapest, but also take into account possible long transfer times or multiple transfers. With the offer described above, the cheapest tickets are all with 2 transfers on the way back and thus a total return journey of 22 hours or more from Bangkok to Düsseldorf. Sometimes it is only a few tens more expensive to find a ticket with only 1 stop and a total flight time of less than 16 hours (including transfer time).

A longer transfer time can also be nice to explore the city in Abu Dhabi or Dubai, for example.

Booked this week with BMAir for December 13 and back on January 13 for € 589.
This is non stop Amsterdam – Bangkok with Eva Air.
    I can wholeheartedly recommend

  6. Ceesdesnor says up

I forgot to mention that with this flight you also have a free hotel stay and transport from the airport.

  7. Van Vliet says up

    Good day people,
Part of the journey is therefore made with Air Berlin (AUH – DUS) or another Low Cost airline, which is why Dusseldorf comes into the picture. You notice 'some flights are made with'. Which flights then please? If that is the case then I am afraid we will not do that because the experience we have with European airlines (poor seating conditions, confined like chickens in a cage that is too small, seat pitch too short!) is unfavorable to put it euphemistically. printing and Air Berlin is the Low Cost Airline of Lufthansa and even with Lufthansa we have not had a good experience, among other things with the bad seating conditions. It is a 7 hour flight from AUH to DUS and if you still have extremely flexible limbs (backpackers) you can survive without skeletal damage or thrombosis!

In addition, for winter visitors who come from NL, they also have to find a connecting train connection to NL and that takes time (after 14 – 16 hours of flying from BKK and a waiting time of 2 hours + the travel time from Dus to AMS by train)

And what are 'additional reservation costs'?

But we (2) are very interested in an open jaw ticket, as follows: CDG – BKK – ? with Etihad or Qatar or Emirates! That ? shouldn't be too far from CDG and with a fairly short waiting time between ? and the flight to CDG and if possible arrive at CDG in the morning because of the TGV. Do you see a chance for that?

    Best regards,

    Ah van Vliet

    NAV Ceesdesnor.
That sounds good Cees. Do you have experience emptying with EVA Air?
    Aad

    • Ceesdesnor says up

Dear Aad, I have been flying with Eva for years and to my complete satisfaction.
I have never experienced any delays with Eva and the meals are fine too.

    • rene23 says up

Just booked with EVA, nice departure times, direct flight, good service, €589 return 6/1-10/2/2015
They fly on Tues, Thurs and Saturdays.
Especially the departure times are decisive for me.
      Never been delayed!!

  9. Aad says up

    Hi Cees,
That sounds good. And if you compare the seating ratio with, say, KLM or something, what is your impression?. Would you mind sending me some details of your flight? We plan to leave early October and fly back early April 215.

    Hello all,

Look up http://www.flugladen.de/. I just booked for €381, paid with ideal so no credit card costs. Depart October 6, return October 28.

I saw that this price is also offered for a few weeks in September.

Why can't those low rates be used for a normal return ticket and do you have to use special constructions such as open jaw?

    • tlb-i says up

You can answer this question yourself if you study the structure and composition of the price of a ticket. Starting AMS is very expensive compared to, for example, Geneva, Rome or Düsseldorf. That is already 1 aspect of the race.

      • Patrick says up

If I have to go from Antwerp to Düsseldorf then my craving is over….

        • Aad says up

Hello Patrick. I agree because it makes no sense. I have the strong impression that the extra costs, the conditions (e.g. change of date is NOT possible in some cases (Flugladen.de read/print the conditions!) and the extra time are usually not worth it. I will keep looking of course but However.
For example, many of the cheap flights have a residence time restriction!

        • tlb-i says up

That's exactly the case with me. I also prefer to start from Antwerp International Airport with the A380-800 non-stop to Bangkok.

      • Jack G . says up

Amsterdam is again cheap for people from outside the Netherlands. They pay considerably less for KLM flights than the Dutch. I often fly Amsterdam via London or Frankfurt to Africa or South America. It's all extra flight movements but it's cheaper. Just talk to your neighbors in a KLM aircraft. They think KLM is cheap and they come from Denmark, Spain or Finland.

        • tlb-i says up

That is completely correct. From Bremen (Germany) via AMS to Prague is cheaper than the ticket from AMS directly to Prague. That's weird, because you have an extra flight, but it's 100% correct

  13. Ma says up

We booked last week from Amsterdam and back to Amsterdam, departure September 7. back April 13, 2015, 541,00 euros at Emirates, offer is no longer available, but will come again, just keep an eye on it.
Waiting times in Dubai 2-3 hours and with the A380 from Dubai to Bangkok

  14. Aad says up

I really appreciate that we all do our best to achieve the optimal price/performance because we NL'ers are good at that, but..... would the best participants also please indicate how they got those tickets with a link eg? That would save a lot of searching.

    regards,

    • tlb-i says up

You should not forget that not everything you read is correct. Length of stay in Thailand, flying on Friday or Tuesday, departure in Geneva, back via Cairo etc. search on French or Spanish site etc. etc. Everything works for the price determination. You have even less of offers that are valid until midnight 24:00. Because of the many wrong trees you can no longer see the forest. Some of the prices are just made up in my personal opinion to make things a bit exciting here👍.

He or she who is seriously busy, gives the link via -copy paste-, so that everyone can book cq. check. I haven't responded to blogger cries, such as AMS to BKK for € 398, - for a long time. As a test I then called the airliner and a flight-only travel agency. They knew nothing. Everything bluff and monkey sandwich.

  15. Aad says up

I completely agree with tlb-ik. For example, I have looked at the famous site of Flugladen.de for the best options from CDG -> BKK > CNX (Chiang mai) and do you know what the difference is with the price booked directly with the companies (Qatar/Bangkok Air) completely 6 euros! For 2 people!
I've already done some research but have decided, including a previous visit to Thailand, that I just book directly with the Me myself, then you also have direct benefits such as flight miles and direct contact if something happens and you need their cooperation. Or do you already see yourself contacting Expedia or something?

In any case, we agree and the rest sucks!

Incidentally, I am working on the application for a legalized marriage certificate in NL and I now know the procedure and the way. Someone interested?

    Regards,
