Dear editors,

Has the requirement changed or not? This is due to my application in 2020. The old requirement was 400.000 Baht in the account OR an income of 40.000 Baht per month. Has that been officially changed to 400.000 Baht in the account AND an income of 40.000 Baht per month or not?

Regards,

Robert

Dear Robert,

Currently nothing has changed (yet) for the “Thai Marriage” extension, as far as I know.

What 2020 brings? We are February 2019 and I don't have a crystal ball.

It is now still EITHER an income of at least 40 000 Baht (Visa Support Letter), OR a bank balance of at least 400 000 Baht (Bank Letter and updated passbook). According to the rules, this amount must be on the booklet at least 2 months before the application.

An option has been added which is accepted. That is 12 monthly deposits of at least 40 Baht from abroad into a Thai account. (Note here, because in some immigration offices only for certain nationalities.)

I don't know where you get 400.000 Bath in the account AND an income of 40.000 Bath per month, but there are more stories doing the rounds.

Regards,

Ronny
