Dear Ronnie,

I read here that several immigration offices are asking for legalization of the income statement. This via the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In order not to have to do this in person, the question:

  • Are there reliable offices that can arrange this quickly and accurately by mail?
  • If so, what is the procedure, costs and time involved?

Regards,

French

Dear French,

Which immigration office do you use? Perhaps it is best to check there first whether this is a requirement of your immigration office. Most people do not require this.

For your information. It does not concern legalization of the income statement itself. The Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs only legalizes the signature of the embassy. Not the content.

I have no idea if this can be done through an office. Possibly yes, but maybe there are readers who can answer this.

Regards,

RonnyLatYa

But if your place of residence, like in my case, is 600 km from Bangkok? Then you would like someone to do that for you and then it may also cost something.

That is indeed what Frans's question is about.
That you don't have to go to Chaeng Wattena yourself.
Well, there will probably be a price for that. And if it is not unreasonable, then there is nothing wrong with that.

Can we take stock of where legalization is requested?

Does it depend on the official or is it a requirement of an immigration office?

Indeed, good advice from Ronny to first inquire at the relevant immigration office whether legalization is required. At least not at my office in Sakaew/Aranyaprathet.

When I ask this at my current immigration office - Sri Racha - there is a good chance that it will be added.
So also for all other length of stay extenders.

However, in order to be prepared if I do not have the legalization with the application and it is requested, I would like to be prepared and have a solution in the short term. Preferably NOT by going to Bangkok-MFA- in person.

My previous experience with a translation agency that also did the legalization is not positive.

Dear questioners. Last year I had the income support letter legalized at BZ. in Bangkok.
They have agreed to this. This year I have not had it legalized because of. lack of time and I have not commented on it. So my question now is when are you doing it right and when are you not. Just have 1 document legalized and you will be on the road for a day + the costs.

    Greetings Ari.
