Questioner: Thomas

I intend to go back to my wife in Thailand this month and just got the letter from the embassy with a provisional CoE. Hotel and ticket reservation still need to be submitted and a personal statement that was included in this email.

Now it is said with which companies you can fly (Emirates, EVA Air, Singapore Airlines, Thai Airways, Qatar Airways and Etihad Airways) but you can also use a repatriation flight arranged by the Thai embassy, I assume, with KLM that is then one way from 700 euros depending on what you want, I think they mean economy and business class.

Now my "Thai wife visa" is valid until November 14 and I can't find anywhere about the extension of this. Could you now extend this 15 days in advance to 7 days afterwards because I remember something about that? If that is the case, I will be on time when I leave on October 30 and after my quarantine, otherwise I will have to fly earlier. Does anyone have a link or know what it is?

Many thanks in advance and good luck to other people who want to go back.

With your "Thai wife visa" I assume you mean a previously obtained period of residence in Thailand, obtained on the basis of "Thai marriage". Hopefully you have also thought about your “re-entry”, but I assume that the embassy will also check or will have checked that.

This period of stay is valid until November 14 you write. Then you also have until that date to apply for a new annual extension.

In principle you can request an extension 30 days, some also accept it 45 days before the end date until that end date. Not later. Also take into account your quarantine period for your renewal or you will lose them.

I wouldn't count on the edge either...

What you mean by 15 days before to 7 days after is the 90 days address notification, but that has nothing to do with this now. You only have to make the next 90 days of address reporting 90 days after entry, which is then possible from 15 days before to 7 days after the 90th day, at least if you are going to make the report at the immigration office yourself. Different periods apply by post or online.
