Questioner: Rob

Extension of stay Non immigrant O retirement. As it looks now, I am unable to apply for my extension of stay for the first time before or on the date on which my current term of 1 year ends.

This is because I do not expect to receive the visa support letter from the embassy by post on time. I submitted my application for this today.
My question in general is how many (working) days do you have to do your application at immigration?

My current period of stay ends on Saturday 18 December

In principle, the last day on which you can submit the application is the end date of your period of stay. In your case that is December 18 you say.

But if immigration in the WE is closed, you can still submit it the next working day. Normally Monday 20 December will also be good. Only the next working day that they are open again counts. But some immigration offices sometimes allow you to be a few days overdue and if you pay an overstay fine of 500 Baht per day, they will still accept it. If it's not too far off, of course.

Note I'm not saying this is possible everywhere. That is entirely the decision of the immigration office and one does not have to do that at all if you are in overstay.

I don't know where you're going to extend, but if it's in Pattaya, the Austrian Consul might be a solution. Have you right away.
