Questioner: John

We want to go to Thailand as 2 pensioners m/f from the beginning of Dec'22 to about half Feb '23. It is unclear to us which visa we should have. And do you have to apply for it max 3 months before arrival in Thailand?

Please advice.

You can apply for a Non-immigrant O Retired Single entry. Upon entry you will receive a 90-day stay. Sufficient for the period you want to stay in Thailand.

You can find the requirements here:

E-Visa Categories, Fee and Required Documents – สถานเอกอัครราชทูตณ กรุงเฮก (thaiembassy.org)

Look under “Longer stay for retired persons (pensioner aged 50 or above)”

Applying one month before departure is fine.
