Questioner: H. Spijker

To extend the 30-day visa, do I have to do anything at the airport? I just get the first visa, with which I can buy an extra 30 days later?

A Visa Exemption means a Visa exemption. In other words, you do not receive a visa on arrival, but a stay of 30 days. You will receive this automatically upon arrival and you do not have to do anything for it.

You can then extend this 30-day stay at any immigration office once by 30 days. Then costs 1900 Baht (50 Euro).

Maybe consider.

If you are planning to stay that long, why not suddenly buy a Tourist visa of 35 Euro. You immediately have 60 days. You could also extend it by 30 days.

Keep in mind that renewals in larger immigration offices can take a long time. Before you know it you'll be queuing up (outside) for half a day.
