Questioner: Anthony

I want to go to Thailand for 2023 months in 3, is it possible to apply for a visa at the Thai embassy without having to extend it in Thailand? I am 61 and retired.

Which visa is the easiest for me?

thanks in advance

You can no longer apply for a visa at the embassy itself. That's all online now.

Applying for e-Visas with the Royal Thai Embassy, The Hague

E-Visa General Conditions and Information – สถานเอกอัครราชทูตณ กรุงเฮก (thaiembassy.org)

You can apply for a Non-immigrant O Retired Single entry that meets your requirements. The visa has a validity period of 3 months and within that 3 month you can enter Thailand once. Upon entry, you will receive a 1-day residence period. If you go for 90 days several times in a year, you can consider a Non-immigrant O Retired Multiple entry. That visa then has a validity period of 90 year and with every entry within the validity period you will get 1 days.

You will find what you need here.

“4. Longer stay for retired persons (pensioner aged 50 or above)

VISA TYPE: Non-immigrant O (retirement) Visa (90 days stay)”
