Is it true that you can enter Thailand by plane three times a year for a month? And by land twice every six months for 15 days. Or does it have to be per year?

– Belgians and Dutch citizens receive a residence period of 30 days on the basis of “Visa Exemption” (visa exemption). It does not matter whether the entry is through an airport or through a land/sea border post.

– In principle, there are no restrictions on the number of entries via an airport. However, there is a possibility that you will receive some questions if there are several arrivals in a short time. People may then ask what you actually come here to do. Usually those questions will have no effect on your entry and refusal for that reason rarely happens. However, there is a chance that you will be told to take a visa the next time you enter that year (or the period that is imposed on you).

– There are restrictions on entry via a border post by land. There, entry based on “Visa Exemption” is limited to 2 entries on an annual basis.

– Also keep in mind that you may be asked to prove that you have sufficient financial resources. Therefore, make sure you always have an amount of 20 Baht (or in any currency) with you. There is also the possibility that proof is requested that you are going to leave Thailand within 000 days.

The average tourist will rarely be asked for such proof. If you enter Thailand several times, that chance naturally increases. And if you can't show that, that's a reason to refuse you.
