Questioner: John
Subject: Non-immigrant O – Extension

My question to Ronny is: My 20-day visa expired on February 90, so I have to extend it for 30 days because I have my return journey home on March 14. I now live in Udonthani and can go to Vientiane for the extension.

However, I can't find anything how to do it and get different advice from other people about it.

Hence my question to Ronny to show me how and where I can extend my visa.

Thank you in advance

I assume that by a “90 day visa” you mean a period of stay of 90 days obtained with a Non-immigrant O visa (And I hear otherwise).

A stay period of 90 days cannot be extended by 30 days. Only with one year and for that you will have to fulfill the known conditions.

However, to bridge the period between February 20 and March 14, it is not necessary that you get a visa in Vientiane.

A normal “border run” is sufficient. You will then return to “Visa Exemption”. This will give you a residence period of 30 days upon entry. Enough to bridge that period. You could possibly extend those 30 days with 30 days at immigration if necessary.

Regards,

Ronny
