Dear editors,

My question is related to my visa. I have a retirement visa O multiple entry, which runs until September 5, 2015. My 2nd entry ends on July 1.

As a visa run I go to the Netherlands for 3 weeks. I will be back in Thailand on July 23. My question is: Do I need a re-entry for this?

I would also like to know, if I go to Myanmar for a visa run on September 5, will I get a 90-day visa again?

Regards,

Peter

Dear Peter,

If you have a Non-Immigrant “0” Multiple entry valid until September 5, 2015, don't worry. Until September 4, you can enter Thailand as often as you want through the Multiple entry. Up to and including September 4, you will again receive 90 days of residence for each entry.

So you can make a last visa run (border run) to Myanmar on September 4 if you wish. Make sure you come back the same day because the validity of your visa has expired from 5 September. Keep this in mind. The date stated on your visa is until, not until.

If you still have valid multiple entries on a visa, re-entries are not necessary. Re-entries are only necessary if you want to keep a previous period of stay when leaving Thailand. In your case, you could request a re-entry if you want to leave Thailand after September 5 and you want to keep your last obtained period of stay.
