Dear editors,

Soon we will fly to Bangkok. We will then stay for 15 days on a cruise to various countries. When we return to Bangkok, by cruise ship, we will be in Thailand for another 14 days before we fly back home.

My question: we have a ticket for travel within the month, do we still need a visa because we enter Thailand twice?

Your reaction please.

Regards,

Elly

Dear Elly,

No, you do not need a visa for Thailand. You will not stay in Thailand for more than 30 days uninterruptedly during both periods, so the “Visa Exemption” you will receive is sufficient.

Upon your first arrival via the airport you will receive a 30 day “Visa Exemption”. From the information you provide I understand that you leave on cruise immediately upon arrival in Thailand (we have a ticket for travel within the month).

After your cruise (entry through a seaport) you will again get 15 or 30 days “Visa Exemption”. Here the legislation is not very clear (15 or 30 days via a seaport) but in your case also unimportant because you only stay for 14 days before flying back home.

Lots of fun.
