Questioner: De Schampheleire
What is possible? Our children 18 and 14 are going on a family visit to Thailand. They both have both Thai and Belgian nationality. However, their Thai passport has expired and they enter Thailand with a valid Belgian passport. In addition, they will of course be given 30 or perhaps another 45 days on arrival.
How should one act to fly back to Belgium after 6 weeks without a visa run? Upon arrival, they will renew their Thai passport and can therefore stay indefinitely on the basis of their Thai nationality.
What about that 30 or 45 day stamp in their Belgian passport? How to solve this legally without creating problems afterwards?

1. They can also apply for a new Thai passport at the Thai embassy in Brussels. Then they enter Thailand on Thai passport.

2. If they enter Thailand with a Belgian passport, they fall under the conditions of a foreigner.
30 days Visa exemption and can be extended by 30 days at immigration. 1900 Baht.
3. If in the meantime they obtain a Thai passport in Thailand, the period of residence with which they entered will not simply expire. You will not be able to cancel that at immigration either. Do they have to leave Thailand before.
