Questioner: Lucien

I would like information about moving to another province. What to do at immigration? I have been living in Pattaya for 7 years and I always go to Jomtien immigration for visa renewal and 90 day extension. Now my question is:

  • Do I need to notify immigration in Jomtien of the move?
  • I am moving to Udon Thani Province Phen district in my wife's house.

The immigration office is 80 km away, but this from Nong Khai is 30 km. You are required to go to your province immigration office

1. Jomtien is allowed, but not actually necessary.

However, you must report your move to your new immigration office.

This can be done with a TM28 – Form for aliens to notify their change of address…

Your wife also needs to make up a new TM30. Usually only the TM30 will suffice and the TM28 is not necessary, but that of course depends on the immigration office.

After moving, you should also make your 90-day report there, but it is easier online of course: https://www.immigration.go.th/en/

2. You have to go to the immigration office under which Phen district falls. If that is Udon then you will have to go there.
