Thailand Visa question No. 011/24: Too late to apply for a visa
Questioner: Ralph
Suppose I want to go to Thailand within 2 weeks for a stay of about 2 months. Too short a day to apply for a visa I assume. Is it possible to travel to Thailand without a visa and apply for a visa there, and should this be done immediately upon arrival in Suvarnabhumi or is this also possible elsewhere?
Will I have any problems upon arrival when the officer sees the return date?
Thank you in advance for your advice,

If you decide so suddenly to leave for Thailand, 2 weeks will indeed be just a short time to apply for a visa. Although you never know, the risk that it is not ready remains of course.
You can leave on Visa Exemption. You will receive 30 days, which you can extend at immigration by 30 days (50 Euro). Normally you will not be asked any questions about your return date at immigration.
This is different at check-in, where they often want to see proof that you intend to leave Thailand within 30 days. Usually a ticket, but sometimes you can solve this with a discussion at the counter or they will accept an explanation. Depends on your society and especially on the person in charge of the society there.
