Part of Sukhumvit in Pattaya, near the tunnel construction site, will be closed in both directions on Thursday, January 21 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

This closure is necessary to install a provisional pedestrian bridge. This temporary bridge will remain in operation until February 21, when the final bridge at the Ban Chak service station is ready.

Traffic to the south (towards Sattahip) is diverted at Siam Country Road to the service road along the railway and then reverts to Sukhumvit Road at the end of that road.

Traffic to the north (towards Banglamung) is diverted via Third Road and can return to Sukhumvit Road at Pattaya North.

Project engineer Titiwatchara Anurutthikul further stated that the entire project is now 40% complete. The walls of the underground tunnel are even 80% ready. The excavation work will continue until the end of this year.
