To make the loss-making Airport Rail Link more attractive, the rate on the Express Line, now 15-45 baht, will probably be reduced to a unit rate of 20 baht and the waiting time will be sold from 15 to 10 minutes.

The Ministry of Transport will also ensure that there are more taxis at Makkasan station during rush hours.

According to Wan Yubamrung, secretary of Deputy Minister Kittisak Hatthasonkroh (Transport), there are now only a few taxis because 'some influential parties' ask drivers for money to pick up passengers. Wan promises to put an end to this practice within a week. Other measures to increase the number of passengers include improved access by car to the station and a shuttle bus between station and metro station Petchaburi. An elevated passage between the two stations is planned.

The Airport Rail Link has two services: the Express Line, nonstop from Makkasan to Suvarnabhumi, and the City Line from Phaya ภาษาไทย to Suvarnabhumi with six stops along the way including Makkasan.

I have also taken a taxi here, but you are on a busy road with no stopping places except in the middle of the road.

It's a shame they're only now finding out.
