Discover Thainess (video)
“Discover Thainess”, discover the way Thai people look at life, that's what this video is about.
tourists who Thailand visits are almost always surprised by the friendliness and hospitality of the Thai people. An example of this is the standard greeting: “pai nai?” or “where are you going?”. This question does not have the literal meaning, but is a greeting such as “hello” or “how are you?”. The same goes for asking whether you have eaten yet (“Kin khaaw lu'yang?”). She is mainly intended to show interest and to have a chat with you.
In Thailand, almost everything revolves around 'sanuk'. Which is synonymous with having fun. For a Thai, something is only worthwhile if it yields something or is 'sanuk'. An idea that appeals to many tourists.
The Thai tourist board has wrapped the attitude to life of the average Thai in the word Thainess. To see and experience that you have to go to Thailand, and of course we like to do that.
