'Love Me Long Time' is a 30-minute Danish documentary from 2004. In this video, three European men and a Thai bargirl talk candidly about their motives and paid holiday love.
The documentary was shot on the tropical island of Koh Samui in the south of Thailand. About 900.000 tourists come to Samui every year holiday to celebrate. Some of them are men looking for companionship, fun, love and sex with Thai women. This group is quickly labeled a sex tourist.

Barry is a 49 year old Danish man who has fallen in love with a bargirl. Tony is a 26 year old man from England who fell in love with a Bargirl 4 years ago while on vacation. Back in England he sold everything and went back to Koh Samui. He is now married to his Thai girlfriend, and they run a beach bar together. He is very happy with her and glad he made this move.
'No Money, No Honey'
Justin (33) also talks candidly about his feelings for a Thai prostitute. He does find the stigma of a sex tourist annoying. His environment also disapproves of his choices. The fact that he buys his 'love' doesn't matter to him. At the end of the documentary, he is brutally confronted with the facts. When he is temporarily without money, his Thai bargirl has another boyfriend. 'No Money, No Honey' thus takes on a very literal meaning for Justin.
Four Farang friends
Nit is a 31-year-old Thai bargirl. She is from Isaan, the Northeast of Thailand. She tells why she came to Koh Samui and sells her body for money. Almost every Thai woman in the sex industry has her own story but the same motives. They want to earn money and preferably find a farang who is willing to take care of her, the children and the family. Nit does not want a Thai man. They are unreliable, beat and don't want to take care of her.
