My good English friend Jamie has been living on for quite some time Koh Chang and recently wrote the following on his Facebook page:

“Took a trip up the east coast today and we discovered a lovely little resort, Garden of Joy, located between Centerpoint and Koh Chang Hospital. It is located right on the beach in a beautiful, relaxing setting.

The menu looked fantastic with crepes, ice creams, pizzas and sandwiches. I had a ham and mozzarella panini and it was great. They also have a bakery and I bought a supply of nice fresh bread to take away. A great find and I'll definitely be back to try the crepes and ice cream”

Garden of joy

I went looking for this resort restaurant and sure enough, found quite a few on the Internet, complete with videos and reviews. The resort is rated 8.3 by booking.com.

Bakery

It is not surprising that the resort has its own bakery, because the owner and manager of Joy Resort & Restaurant is Alain Vanachter, a native of Brussels, who followed his (pastry) baker's training at Covit in Anderlecht.

Years ago I was there for a week when there was an Italian in the restaurant and there was no bakery.
Nice houses on the beach and free canoe for sailing and nice swimming pool can be recommended.

    Small improvement:
The school where Alain trained as a (pastry) baker is not called Covit, but it is COOVI.
Well-known school here in Belgium, mainly for craft training…
