I visited Phra Nakhon Kiri in Phetchaburi 12 years ago. Phra Nakhon Kiri is located on a hill overlooking the city. The name Phra Nakhon Khiri means 'sacred city hill', but locally it is called "hill with palace".

The park is built in three parts: on the middle top is the chedi Phra That Chom Phet, on the western top the palace and on the eastern top you see Wat Phra Kaeo, the royal temple that is comparable to Wat Phra Kaeo in Bangkok. The entire complex was built as a summer palace by King Mongut and construction was completed in 1860.

From the road you go up with a "track" from where you have a very nice view.

The site was registered as a historical park on August 27, 1979 with two buildings now a branch of the Thai National Museum.

It is indeed worth visiting Pra Nakhon Kiri.
It is a pity that the state of the palace is getting worse and worse. It's time to give it a serious overhaul.
