Bang Saray, where is that?
Ever heard of Scared Sarah, a tropical retreat with idyllic beaches? Well, it's about 20 miles south of Pattaya towards Sattahip.
That distance from Pattaya really seems to make a big difference, as Bang saray has managed to keep its Thai charm until now. You can forget about the glitz and barmaids of Pattaya for a while, while still not far away to enjoy it now and then.
Attraction
The attraction of Scared Sarah seems to rest on numerous natural attractions and lifestyle opportunities. For golf enthusiasts alone, 20 nearby golf courses rank among the top in Thailand. The local government has also been quite progressive with cycling, running and walking routes in the area. There are not many tall buildings and big tourist developments in Bang saray - you will find much more local people and smaller beach restaurants.
Eastern Economic Corridor
Thailand has already made the Eastern Economic Corridor a "thing" with a 20-year strategy to make this part of the country the main economic driver for the Thai economy. Rayong and Chonburi are already major industrial production centers in the area. The Thai government says 1,5 trillion baht ($43 billion) is planned for infrastructure projects, including the expansion of U-Tapao International Airport and the construction of a high-speed rail line between Bangkok and nearby Rayong.
U-Tapao International Airport has already undergone an upgrade and is attracting more direct flights to the region, without people having to make the 2-2,5 hour journey from Suvarnabhumi Airport.
Land prices
Property-report.com reports that land near the beach in Bangsaray has increased by a whopping 15 percent in the past 225 years. “A 3-rai plot in that area now costs about 30 million baht per rai, compared to 7-8 million baht in 2002,” said Clayton Wade, MD of Pattaya-based real estate agency Premier Homes. “This is one of the most positive aspects of Bang saray's emergence as a boutique hotel hotspot. Land prices in Pattaya, Jomtien and Na Jomtien went up even more during the same period, but Bang Saray is participating nicely in the very attractive price increases of land.”
Forecast
Clayton Wade concludes with; “I predicted in 2007 that Bang Saray would evolve in 10 years from a sleepy fishing village to a top resort in Thailand. Well, it's been ten years and we haven't quite figured it out yet, but Bang Saray is well on its way.”

Clayton Wade of the real estate agency Premier Homes is trying to get rich!
Bang Saray has a nice but narrow beach and will not be longer than 1 kilometer.
Friendly owners where you can sit on a mat on the beach or, if desired, a chair will be collected.
The village still has a number of original wooden houses.
To create a "hotspot" with boutique hotels, the authentic houses will have to be demolished and the atmosphere of BangSaray will be destroyed and gone.
Between Bang Saray and Sukhumvit there is land that is being built here and there with condos.
Back towards Pattaya, a number of locations are being built, hotels and condos for the future of the EEC. Hopefully, Bang Saray will be spared!
Been there yesterday. I know the place for about 10 years. Indeed, higher land prices, so now also here high-rise on the coastal strip. And like many places, the once clean water is now polluted with plastic etc. Perhaps economically interesting, but a lot less for the general well-being.
Bang Saray is a very nice town and has a nice beach where it is quite nice to relax. But if you drive from Pattaya to Bang Saray you will come across another town with a very nice beach. Ban Amphur beach. This is really a very nice and cozy beach, where you can relax. Chairs, tables sunbeds Table with benches. It's really worth it. And then there is the beach just past Bang Saray on a Military Base. There is also a very nice beach in a Bay of this Base and you have several restaurants and a supermarket. You do have to pay to get to the beach. But that's worth it. At the entrance of the base you have to hand over an ID and then you get a map. Then you can drive to the office where the beach entrance tickets are sold. Then you can hand in your ticket to uncle and drive your pussy to the beach and park nearby. When you leave, hand in your card at the exit and you will receive your ID back. Except on Sundays and public holidays, you cannot drive to the beach with your own vehicle. But then free sontaws drive up and down. But on normal weekdays you will not be bothered by that. Only a minus point, they have no sun beds. But it is very nice to stay and swim and it is clean. And for people who like peace and quiet there are nice resorts in the area, which are very reasonable in price. I live in Huay Yai myself, which is close to Ban Amphur, so I spend a lot of time on the beach there.
Yours sincerely. Thailand John.
And don't forget Bang Saray has a very good Belgian baker "Peter" fresh bread and the like every day.
Bang Saray is a fishing village that certainly has its charm. There is considerable work being done and the necessary changes are visible and it depends on how you look at it whether this is a blessing or a loss. I certainly see improvements, because half of the beach has already been tackled and the necessary new buildings are being built. It is to be hoped that there will be few high-rise buildings because I don't like that and that will certainly negate the picturesque. The land / house prices are rising because the big money has to be earned. Like so many other places in Thailand, decay will set in here too. I am regularly fishing there because the fishing boat jetty is ideal for that. The water is still cleaner than at other places on the coast, but with a certain wind direction, this beach is also provided with rubbish. The park on the beach does meet a certain social need. Jan and everyone are playing sports and playing and that is good to see. The prices of the restaurants on the beach are also rising and the price for an overnight stay in the hotel of the photo Kept Bang saray varies between 3177 baht per night for Kept skyline and the water villas from 17,301 baht to 22,362 baht per night. The latter are therefore not generally reserved for Jan.
In terms of nightlife, Ban Saray will soon have overtaken Pattaya. I know a few streets that are full of bars and the necessary girls are also present. And that too will only continue to grow.
I think and hope not given the current political approach with permits, etc
The town is also not suitable for "nightlife"
Dear Pet, it is not to be hoped that your prediction will come true. The bars and the necessary girls are present. Is this necessary in this fishing village. The ultimate depravity is my opinion. But I am not alien to the world and the situation for certain target groups remains unchanged, because sharing money on this globe is not commonplace and self rules. I know that the black money of motorcycle gangs from Germany, among others, has also made its appearance in this town. The hospitality industry, bars and prostitution are excellent for this, leaving out the hard-working honest entrepreneur of course. They enrich things.
Peter is not only a baker, but also has a thriving restaurant called Le Bistro.
Good food at acceptable prices! They also have Thai food.
Jo is now the baker, the bistro has been run by Ning for six months, good, favorable and pleasant to stay.
Also closed…and state “to take over”…
I know Bang Saray well because I live not far from it in the dark side of Pattaya. When I hear the name, however, I always think of another village, located next to the village where I took my wife away 40 years ago. Bang Saray located on the main road 214 from Surin to Roiet. About halfway you cross a river and enter the province of Roiet. Just across the bridge is a tiny village and for me that is the one and only Bang Saray.
A nice seaside resort with nice shops and restaurants,
bars in the small center and lots of fish restaurants by the sea with delicious fresh fish. Recommended!!
Before COVID I loved to go to bang Saray… both for the beach and for a nice cocktail (happy hour time between 17 and 19 pm) after a motorbike ride south-east of pattaya…..
But unfortunately not anymore .... the road works on the Sukhumvit road and the construction sites on the "beach road" in Bang Saray itself as well as the disappearance of my favorite coffee, moktail and cocktail shop have put an end to that for the time being.
Hopefully after work I will feel like tasting the delights of Bang Saray again…..but I fear not as the place is losing authenticity for me……
VICKY's restaurant/bar has recently opened, a true metamorphosis of the former
“Cafe drop-in”
.live music at the weekend, good fresh affordable Thai food and a fantastic hostess VICKY.
Worth for a visit. A must in Bang Saray.
