For a fun night out in Hua Hin, the Cicada market and Soi 88 are both recommended. Hopefully we can make it this year enjoy again.
The Cicada market is a household name in Hua Hin. Unlike the many local markets that focus on fresh produce and clothing, this market clearly distinguishes itself from others. You won't find fresh fruit or fish here. No, this market clearly has an artistic purpose. Here you can buy gift items, art, decorations, fashion and handicrafts, made by creatives and artists. But there is more, the market also offers inspiration for creative minds, workshops are given, there are exhibitions and you can watch performances with dance, music and visual arts.
Self 88
Soi 88 or Baan Ka Pon, just over the railway, is a well-known location in Hua Hin. It's kind of a big outdoor restaurant with many stalls preparing different dish. Street food prices are reasonable and you can choose from Thai to European food. Every evening there is a free performance by different bands, unfortunately sometimes with a (too) high volume.

Hi,
Those are not images of Soi 88 but of Baan Khun Por, which is indeed about the only thing there is in soi 88. At the same time a mega happening there. Regularly play Thai Top bands. Must see.

Baan ka pon in Soi 88 I really liked and became my favorite place in the evening. Does anyone know if there is something similar in Pattaya?
One kilometer north of Baan Khun Por is another open-air food court, Pae Mai, on the other side of the railway at soi 68. Has anyone ever been there and is it recommended?
also a nice food court, slightly less loud music but also delicious food
Jan, I don't know when you were last there, but Pae Mai is dying. Most stalls/restaurants are closed, often moved to the food court next to the Big C on Pala U Road.
