The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has launched the “Amazing Beach Life Festival”, a multi-location event aimed at promoting tourism. The festival, which takes place in the provinces of Rayong, Phang-Nga, Phuket and Songkhla, is part of the government's broader “Ignite Tourism Thailand” initiative.
Apichai Chatchalermkit, deputy governor of TAT, stated that the event targets foreign and local tourists interested in beach activities. The aim is to spread economic benefits to local communities outside the peak season.
The festival kicks off at Laem Charoen Beach in Rayong from July 12 to 14, followed by events in Phang-Nga from July 26 to 28, in Phuket at Patong Beach from August 2 to 4, and ends in Songkhla at Chalatat Beach from 9 to 11 August. Activities include water sports, music concerts, DJ performances and beach-themed DIY workshops. There will also be local arts and crafts fairs, food trucks, beach bars and fashion shows.
To promote sustainable tourism practices, the event will feature eco-friendly decorations and a booth highlighting the winners of the Thailand Tourism Award, which recognizes sustainable tourism businesses. TAT partners with Global Chemical (PTTGC) for waste management initiatives. The festival will set up the “YOUTURN Platform” to engage tourists in responsible waste management and offer DIY activities for upcycling.
The Amazing Beach Life Festival is free to enter, with more details available on the official Facebook page and via the 1672 Travel Buddy hotline.
