Dear editors,

I am filling in the forms for applying for the MVV. Now it is (of course) unclear to me. Do the appendices “Evidence of the medical situation of a foreign national” and “Consent statement medical data” always have to be completed?

My girlfriend does not have a regular doctor and is not receiving treatment or is physically and mentally healthy. Perhaps these are for those who want an exemption on medical grounds?

We have to sign some forms, with place and date. Is it a problem that these are signed on a date "far" before the actual request? She is still here now, and the forms can now be signed by her. With a date just before she leaves. In this case September 12.

She will start a course for the civic integration exam on 1 October. This lasts 6 weeks. Her exam is the following week. And then apparently it can take another 6 weeks before she has her results. In total, we sign the forms 15 weeks before I can send the actual application. Is this a problem? I will also visit her after her exam. Just don't take all that paperwork with you in my backpack.

On the “relationship statement” I have to enter a date as of when we think we will start living together. In our case (as so often I assume) this depends on the date she receives her MVV. Because after that we will book a flight asap to have her come to the Netherlands asap and live together. I will give this date, but it is completely unclear and may be wrong. Is this a (known) problem?

Thank you again for the answers!

Regards,

Ruud

Dear Ruud,

You do not have to fill in the mentioned appendices regarding medical data. These only apply in special cases where, for example, a foreign national is already staying in the Netherlands for medical treatment and it is not responsible to first return to the country of origin to collect the MVV (entry visa) at the embassy. In the Immigration Thai partner file - see the menu on your left here on the blog - I write on page five:

“Only fill in the appendices that were requested when completing questions 1 to 10. You will notice that not all appendices apply to you (for example, the appendix 'Declaration of consent for medical data' and 'Proof of the medical situation of the foreign national'), you do not have to send those attachments.”

After publication of this file in 2015, it later (2017) also became possible to submit a TEV application digitally via the IND website. regarding an application with medical grounds. But this is a guess, I've never gone through a digital application.

At the dates you simply enter the date on which the person completes that form. Otherwise, fill it in once as a test/concept and if you are sure that you have a nice application package, you both fill in everything for real. The IND will not find it strange that such a date goes back a few months, collecting papers can take a long time.

For the date of immigration you can consult a crystal ball, or enter a date 2-3 months in the future. Scribble ASAP if you want to be fun. This question simply makes no sense because it depends entirely on the IND.

As an example of how to fill in a TEV form (#7018) from the IND, you can look at the attachment that I send in this e-mail. This example is now partly outdated, but it still gives a good representation of how the IND thinks and what they want from you. It can also be found on the website of the Foreign Partner Foundation, but then you need an account to download it:

Success!
