Is there an alternative to Wise?
I am having difficulty opening a Wise account despite multiple attempts to identify myself with a Thai ID or driver's license. Both with an iPhone and now on my partner's Android phone, my attempts fail. Recently I managed to upload documents via Android phone, but shortly afterwards I received another disappointing notification. Since I have been deregistered, I can no longer use my Belgian ID. This keeps me from getting any further.
Can I have my pension and AOW transferred directly to Wise?
I occasionally exchange euros for Thai baht via Wise. This usually works fine. Now I want to know, can I also have my pension and AOW transferred directly to Wise, without the intervention of my Dutch bank?
I regularly transfer euros from Belgium to Thailand via Wise and it works perfectly. Is it also possible to transfer money from Thailand to Belgium via Wise?
Sending money to Thailand with Wise is great for these 7 reasons!
Wise, formerly known as TransferWise, is a popular choice for transferring money from Belgium or the Netherlands to Thailand due to its simple and cost-effective approach. When you want to transfer money with Wise, you start by creating an account on their website or via the mobile app. This process is quite simple and requires some basic information about you and your financial situation.
Can I withdraw baht in Thailand with Wise?
We are going to Thailand for 2 months in January. Now I understand that withdrawing money in Thailand is relatively expensive. I read in the blog that with a WISE account this would cost a little less. I therefore opened a WISE account (including a bank card) and deposited euros into it.
Would you like to have my pre-pension deposited into a Wise account during my holiday in Thailand?
I just left for a short holiday in Thailand. But the day before departure I saw a message from NN who wanted to transfer my pre-pension in January. I have read here that readers of the blog have it deposited into their Wise account. So I entered my Wise account on their form.
Sending money with WorldRemit or Wise?
I keep reading things here about sending money with Wise. I have been sending money to the Philippines with WorldRemit for years and it is fast and cheaper than Wise, I think. Why isn't this well known here? Maybe WR doesn't work for sending money to Thailand or something?
Wise: Invest in some of the world's biggest companies from EUR 1
Are you considering investing in prominent companies such as Apple, Tesla and Microsoft, but have a limited budget? Wise's recently introduced “Shares” program offers an option to participate from EUR 1 in a fund that focuses on such companies.
Problems with Wise when transferring to Kasikorn Bank
A few weeks ago, an acquaintance of mine made two transfers from Wise (Euro account) to the Kasikorn bank. Instead of a few seconds as usual, this time it took 6 days before his money was in the Thai bank, with a credit of 500 baht still owed to him. little had been paid out. After several emails and a few telephone conversations, it turns out to be one of their partners who is causing the problem.
I have a question regarding Wise. To open an account with Wise, do you have to have an account in your own country, NL, Belgium or Europe? Or can a pension fund also transfer it directly to Wise?
Thailand question: Link Wise to Thai bank account?
I registered with Wise with my Dutch account number and opened a Thai bank account in the past year. Now I also want to link my Thai account to it, so that I can transfer money, but I can't. Can someone tell me how to do that?
For years I have been using (Transfer)Wise for transactions to our account in Thailand; with great satisfaction. Now - after the umpteenth malfunction at that orange lion, last Friday - I was quite fed up and transferred the savings, approx. € 20.000, - to my Wise Euro account. Just on the current account you will receive more interest there (at Wise) than with the Orange savings account of this club!, where a paltry 1% interest will be paid from 0.90 June.
My Thai girlfriend obviously has a Thai bank account. Soon I will go to Thailand again. I am now wondering what is cheaper: just withdraw money from an ATM (I withdraw 20.000 or 30.000 baht at a time), or that I transfer money to her account via Wise and she withdraws it via the ATM,
Thailand question: Potential fraud with Wise?
Two days ago I received a notification from Wise that two purchases via my debit card could not go through due to exceeding the limit, namely one of $ 5000 and one of 5000 British pounds. Fortunately, because I had no knowledge of these purchases at all. If the amounts had been lower, I would have been screwed.
If I transfer € 10.000 to the Kasikorn via Wise and Wise says that they will deposit 367.514,39 Baht (Wise costs have already been paid by then) do I also have to pay costs to the Kasikorn for the credit?
A while ago, Wise users received an email that the company is going to adjust their rates for cash withdrawals above € 200. They have come back to this, as witnessed by the e-mail that Wise sent today.
I am now transferring money through Wise. That goes well and quickly. Can transfer a maximum of 1.000 euros at a time and that will cost around € 7,50. Now I received an email from Wise announcing that their rates will increase as of January 1, 2023. I would then pay more than € 10 per € 1.000.
