Do or don't smoke weed in Thailand?

Since I'm back in Bangkok I see that weed is openly sold in all tourist places and it's only been kind of legal for a month and a half from what I understand. To be clear weed has to grow and dry for a few months so of course it was there for much longer. I like to smoke a little now and then, but in the Netherlands I had promised myself not to use illegal drugs.

August Update Koh Samui (Readers Submission)

With a full flight BRU-BKK-USM arrived on Koh Samui for the 10th time Thailand for us. Cozy atmosphere in Samui I think about 60% occupancy rate in the hotels. Nice live atmosphere in the bars and restaurants. You can still see many shops that are still closed or are reopening.

Weed shops in Thailand, what is that again?

When I return to Thailand after 2 years, I see advertisements for weed and hashish. Even shops. What's that good for? Thailand was always so strict on drugs, we get this. Who came up with that? Do not think that a Thai family with young children is waiting for this. Just look at Amsterdam where there is enough decay. Also such a hash capital. Coffee shops where you can't even get coffee. Are they now also coming up with this nonsense in Thailand.
