Down the drain
While traveling through Southeast Asia, I came across a series of humorous warnings and instructions in restrooms, ranging from proper usage to cultural jokes. This light-hearted look at sanitary etiquette not only reveals the diversity of operating instructions travelers may encounter, but also sheds light on a deeper social issue: the availability of basic amenities such as toilets at home. This story is an entertaining journey through the small rooms of Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam, which will make the reader laugh but also make you think.
Crouching in Thailand
Luxury can be stolen from me. However, there are two things I do like some kind of civilisation: sleeping and going to the toilet.
The smallest room in Thailand

Strange toilet habits in Thailand
Those who go on holiday to Thailand will soon notice that a number of things are different than in the Netherlands or Belgium. An example of this are the toilet habits in the 'Land of Smiles'.
Papayas and toilet paper
It is very busy here on the road. At least, compared to the Touwbaan in Maashees. On the mountain slopes, all kinds of people have pieces of land on which all sorts of things are grown, and where they therefore have to go regularly. On average, I think a moped passes by twice an hour.
