A weekend out

June 23, 2019

It was a while ago, but last weekend my Dutch friend and his Thai wife were back in Udon. He has just shaken off some withdrawal symptoms after a three-month stay in the Netherlands. My boyfriend, let's call him Charly Blue, and I visit each other regularly. He lives with his charming wife, let's call her Koy for convenience, near Roi Et. We also go there 1-2 times a year, and then sleep in the Chic101 hotel in Selaphum. Conversely, he comes to Udon 2-3 times a year.

Fortunately, Charly's life is full of pleasant surprises (unfortunately sometimes also less pleasant ones). Until a few years ago, he would never have dared to predict that he would spend the rest of his life in Thailand. However, he has now been living in Thailand for a while. Close to Udon Thani in recent years. Today an article about the structure and structure of Thai education.

Earlier I wrote an article about learning the Thai language (see article 7A). This article was largely based on my experiences with the self-learning course of NHA. A very comprehensive course, consisting of no less than 60 lessons. The NHA course goes very deep, but it takes tremendous persistence to get there. I didn't manage to do that at the time and I stopped after two years of study.

Busy roads, wet streets and disorderly traffic. A cloudy sky with the promise of more rain. De Inquisitor quickly parks in the covered parking of the @Hotel Udon. Strange name but he finds by far the best place to stay: very reasonable in price, right in the center of the city, completely renovated not so long ago.

In my description of the nicest and cosiest street in Udon, soi sampan, I already let slip that in my opinion daSofia is one of the best, if not the best, restaurant on this street. daSofia is mainly oriented towards Italian cuisine. Many ingredients are imported from Italy, which means that the dishes at daSofia are always authentic in taste and of top quality.
