A while ago I read somewhere that the Thai passport, which was always valid for 5 years, is now also valid for 10 years. On telephone inquiry at the Thai consulate in Munich, the lady could not tell me anything about the possibility of this new 10-year valid passport.

My daughter's Thai passport expires at the beginning of 2021. The problem is that her mother is in Korea and therefore cannot be present at the application. I read confusing reports about whether or not both parents must be present.

My wife has Belgian and Thai nationality. She uses her Thai last name almost everywhere, but when we got married in Thailand, her last name was changed to mine, so that her passport, ID card and driver's license were made out on my last name. I am going on vacation to Thailand tomorrow with my Thai wife. When checking in online, I saw that my wife's passport is still valid for 6 months and 2 weeks. We will stay in Thailand for 1 month.
