My name is Pimpat and for the last two years, before it closed, I was the last and only direct employee of the Royal Thai Honorary-Consulate Amsterdam. I have not written this message with the intention of humiliating or condemning in any way Mr. Richard Ruijgrok, former consul. I only want to share my own experience based on factual information during my employment with the RTCG.
I am looking for reliable information about the sudden closure of the Thai Consulate in Amsterdam. A buddy of mine is now in NL and lives in 020 but had to go to The Hague for his visa.
What was somewhat to be expected after Essen and Amsterdam, it is now also the turn of Antwerp, Liège and Luxembourg. Their powers are also being shortened and you can no longer go there for a visa and legalization of documents.
TB Immigration Information Letter No. 035/21: No more visa applications through the Amsterdam consulate
Applying for a visa through the consulate in Amsterdam will stop on 28 May. Now everything has to go through the embassy in The Hague.
My experience with Brussels embassy is also not positive. Because of this I even missed my departure in March. On the other hand, I can recommend the Antwerp consulate. Very helpful and very good explanation. The consul speaks Dutch, in Brussels they don't speak Dutch the times I've been there.
New opening hours Thai Consulate Amsterdam, 10:00-14:00 hrs.
My girlfriend and I are planning a trip to Thailand in September. My girlfriend needs a visa to make this trip. She has a Belarusian passport with a residence permit.
The Thai consulate in Amsterdam has a new website
The Thai consulate in Amsterdam has informed the editors of Thailandblog that they have a new website. Of course our visa expert Ronny took a look at it.
TB reader Marco has informed me that the “Royal Thai Honorary Consulate General Amsterdam” has a new website. It is currently still under construction: www.royalthaiconsulate-amsterdam.nl/
After 12 years and 50+ entries in Thailand on a visa exemption, I now want to apply for a Non immigrant O visa for the first time. My question: Are there any differences between the Thai Embassy in The Hague or the consulate in Amsterdam? The websites are different and I wonder what the experiences are like per location?
Penang in Malaysia is a popular destination for expats and tourists, especially from Phuket, to extend a visa for Thailand or convert to a Non-Immigrant visa for a longer stay.
Reader submission: Apply for a 90-day non-immigrant visa at the Consulate in Amsterdam
Applying for a visa for Thailand is not going to be easy. Since 2009 never a problem with two different passport photos, last year even one was sufficient. Need two identical passport photos this year. Furthermore, never had to submit a copy of the marriage certificate, which is logical because the wife of the woman is mentioned in the passport of the lady. This time it is, so with lightning speed to the town hall. Fortunately we got married in Naarden and we didn't have to go to Leeuwarden. We live in France, where the marriage certificate is also located.
Is the Thai consulate in Amsterdam no longer located on the Herengracht? I want to apply for a 90 day visa and I would like to download an application form. The website has also been unavailable for days.
Reader submission: Good service at Thai Consulate in Essen
What a good service you get at the Thai embassy in Essen. We went there last week for a visa for Thailand. We arrived at 11.50:12.00 AM and the consulate is closed at XNUMX:XNUMX PM.
Does anyone have experience applying for a visa for Thailand at the Thai consulate in Amsterdam?
Visa service Amsterdam, a different experience
On Thailand blog people have often complained about the visa service in Amsterdam, but Paul Schiphol has completely different experiences. They are friendly and helpful.
Reader Submission: Sequel to 'The Logic Is Lost at the Thai Consulate'
It would be nice if you could still post the message below. I think it is very sporting that the Honorary Consul General, Richard Ruijgrok, has responded.
