Nightlife in Thailand is famous and notorious. Anyone who has traveled around the globe can confirm that almost nowhere in the world can you go out as extensively as in Bangkok, Pattaya and Phuket. Of course a large part of the entertainment industry revolves around sex, yet there is also plenty to do for tourists who do not come for that. The many bars with live music, excellent restaurants, discotheques, beach parties and shopping centers are good examples of this.
Red light districts in Bangkok: Nana Plaza, Soi Cowboy and Patpong, hotspots for tourists
Bangkok has a number of red light districts that are popular with curious foreign tourists. The most famous are Patpong, Nana Plaza and Soi Cowboy.
Bangkok will not captivate you at first sight. In fact, 'you like it or you hate it'. And to sharpen the picture even more, Bangkok stinks, is polluted, dilapidated, noisy, cramped, chaotic and busy. Very busy even.

In Bangkok there are a number of red light districts that are popular with foreign tourists, Soi Cowboy is one of them. The street is about 300 meters long and is located between Sukhumvit Road Soi 21 (Asoke) and Sukhumvit Soi 23 in Bangkok

It goes without saying that Bangkok is an impressive city during the day. At night the city is perhaps even more impressive. Bangkok is alive 24 hours a day. In the dark, the millions of lights, the speeding traffic and the many screaming billboards make it clear that you have ended up in a gigantic metropolis.

Every now and then when I am in Bangkok I like to pay a visit to my favorite restaurant Ban Kanitha on Soi 23.
In my opinion it is one of the best and nicest restaurants in town. You can enjoy delicious Thai dishes both indoors and outdoors and they also have a reasonable range of wines.

It's been haunting my head all day; the scene from a conference by Toon Hermans. Dad goes out. Father throws himself into the mundane, father has something crazy today. Does not suffer from migraines, father is having sex today. Father goes down the wrong path, father wants something now and then.

Yes, you read that right, all businesses in Soi Cowboy, one of Bangkok's most famous entertainment centers, are closed. All the lights are out and the girls of fun are nowhere to be seen. The otherwise busy street in the evenings is deserted and desolate.
